Nominate someone to organise your project - how about you!
It is really important to let us know that you are planning to take part
so that we know how many books are potentially on the go at any one time.
It does not commit you to anything.
GROUP OF TWELVE
Get together a group of twelve friends.
Think of people who have always said -
'I would love to write ...'
but have never got round to it.
It could be your book club, people in your village, family ...
ALLOCATE ONE MONTH OF THE YEAR TO EACH FRIEND
Do this randomly - don't try to double think it!
So ... write Jan, Feb, March etc on 12 pieces of paper.
Put them in a jar, hat, whatever you like ...
For each person pick out a month and tell them their allocated month.
The month can be central to their story or just mentioned in passing.
CHOOSE A THEME
There is one theme per book.
(... so we don't end up with books with the same theme).
Your theme could be a colour ... or anything you like ..
... and like the month, be central to the story or just a fleeting suggestion.
Having a theme can bind you together and help with the writing process!
BRIEF your GROUP
Make sure everyone knows what is required.
Use the Writer's Briefing Sheet.

WRITE YOUR STORIES
how long will it take?
The time spent from the launch of the idea to your friends to uploading your stories is up to you.
A suggested timescale would be four months.
Set a deadline for stories.
Stories should be uploaded as close to TwelveTales house style as possible.
eg. use ' and ' for speech, not " and "
We can send you more detailed house style info once you have started.
You could appoint one person to edit all the stories
... or edit in smaller groups
Editing can be personal ... but is helpful and there to build on brilliance
... not knock it down!
We do not edit stories - but we do read them before print to check content.
Obscene content, bad language or any material deemed
offensive by Beetleheart Publishing will not be published.
The stories will need to be adapted or binned!
APPOINT A PROOF READER
Proof reading is your respoinsibiity ...
... so proof read stories before uploading!
DECIDE ON A TITLE FOR YOUR BOOK
... if you can't think of one we will do it for you.
We reserve the right to change the title if unsuitable.
UPLOAD YOUR STORIES, PHOTOGRAPHS and PAY
Upload your twelve stories, their titles and writer's names
... and writer's photographs for the cover.
Also upload the title for your book if you have not done so already.
At the point of uploading you will need to pay for your books.
The minimum number of copies is 72 @ £6.00 each.
This will give each writer 6 copies for £36.
If you want to reduce this price to say £4 a copy just order more.
You can order more copies even at proof stage which will reduce the cost per copy.

NOW RELAX ... until you receive your PROOF
We will layout your stories, content page, design your cover ... and send you a proof.
Check the proof carefully.
IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO EDIT AND PROOF READ - not ours!
We do read the stories to ensure stories do NOT include
any obscene or offensive content, bad language - NO swear words are accepted
- this will be crossed out or story binned!
If we spot any errors we will make corrections as we see fit.
APPROVE YOUR PROOF
... once approved you will receive your books within three weeks.
RECEIVE YOUR BOOKS
... give them to family, friends, sell for charity ...
... have a reading in the pub, your book club ...
... and start writing your next story ...
